Discourse and Intercourse, XVI. Prayer for the Dying.

I give praise to the Destroyer,
who destroys light with darkness
and darkness with light,
who kills emotion with disappointment,
				apathy,
				cruelty,
and kills disappointment, apathy, and cruelty
with rich rich emotion.

All things are held in balance.
All things are kept in turmoil.

Only,
	in this way too
will I be
	reused.

I give praise to the end of the beginning
and to the beginning of the end.
I give praise to stories
and to stories which lead up to stories.

I give praise.
I give praise—
		even in my tears,
		even in my dying.
