"At one point, you were the wind"

At one point, you were the wind
and you thought you were free
and although you could go
wherever you wanted
you could not stop
     without dying —

They told me
to root myself in my body —
if I am to bridge the many worlds,
I must be the fountain,
       the source.

When I was the wind
    I ate mountains,
I tried to swallow
    the sea.
