Couple

I Walk Around

by Rachel A. Gold

I walk around with restless feet,
I wander to and fro,
Unsatisfied, and vague desires
Stir in me as I go.

I don't know what to do, so long
Is passion unfulfilled;
Heartsick, I try to banish love,
But it will not be willed--

My thoughts go here, my thoughts go there,
Then they return again
To you--I never dreamed that love
Could cause such wretched pain.
