Return
by Rachel A. Gold
I shall go back to the wave-beat shore,
Back to where the ocean meets the land,
And I shall wonder, as I look, the more,
So much there is for me to understand.
The pleasure of my childhood, memories,
Of days gone by, still haunt me, wrath like now,
I wonder, as I gaze, of long past days,
When youth, a joy and blessing, on my brow,
Stirred me from slumber, made the cloud-tossed sky,
And sea seem like a place of mystic lore,
Though now my dreams are gone, it may be I
Shall dream again upon the shell-strewn shore
