Logan was born on Ground Hog Day, on February 2nd, 1993, in Silverton,
Oregon, during an impressive snow storm. Always afraid to come out and
play with his siblings, or to visit with prospective new owners, Logan was
the last kitten left when we went to see him for the first time. Though
the broken lamps and chewed books began to pile up, we love Logan
unconditionally and knew he would grow out of it (and he did). Neighbors
almost called the police when they thought we were being burglarized while
away at work one day, only to discover that it was just Logan - getting a
running start up the Lazy Boy recliners to see how fast he could get them
rocking at the same time. As a teenager, Logan's Siamese markings much
resembled that of devil's horns, though those have since filled in, too.
Logan was companion to a 17-year-old Siamese named Barney (who lived to be
20 years old). Barney's previous companion was a Siamese named Pippin
(who lived to be 17 years old), and Logan was therefore a tremendous
comfort to Barney during his last years. Logan is now 7-years-old and now
pretends to "tolerate" the company of 4-year-old Jessica and 6-month-old
White Cloud. Logan actually enjoys watching Jessica and White Cloud frolic
and play, but generally considers himself too refined to join in the games.
Logan is surprisingly affectionate and loves to snuggle, but does not
like to share his people and is slowly learning to do that. Logan was
named for a character in the movie "Logan's Run" and his female companion
is named Jessica, also for a character in the movie "Logan's Run." Carolyn Bennett-Hunter
Jessica was born on April 11, 1997, in Keizer, Oregon. The first thing
that I noticed about Jessica was how small she was, yet somehow was
managing to terrorize every other kitten in the cage where she was housed
at a pet store nearby. I knew right then she could hold her own, even
with Logan. The second thing I noticed after inquiring about her was that
her birthday was the same day Pippin's had been (April 11th). I'd never
purchased an animal from a pet store before, but had been to the Humane
Society and everywhere else I could think of first and hadn't found the
Siamese kitten I was looking for. Still unsure about Jessica (since she
was Black and not Siamese), I found out she was part Siamese, and had had
a brother who was a true Lilac Point Siamese in appearance. Then I asked
to hold her. Jessica instantly transformed into an angel and began to
purr. Jessica knew she had found her new master, and indeed I continued
to hold her as I wrote the check, not putting her down again until we
reached home. Jessica may not know that her name was actually chosen 5
years before she was even born, but Jessica knows how much we love her and
how special she is to us. To this day, Jessica loves to fetch and
retrieve balls. As a kitten, Jessica would get up at 4:30 each morning
and begin bringing balls to bed, hoping with each ball to get someone up
to play with her. There were times when I'd awaken to find as many as 40
balls on the bed - a true sign of love! Jessica is the peace maker in the
family, gets along well with others, and is a true treasure.

Hi, my name is
White Cloud. Like my father, and his father before him, I was born in the
forest. Being feral might not be so bad, were it not for being homeless,
hungry all the time, and constantly forced to encounter racoons, possums,
and other such unfriendly creatures. When me and my siblings were only 8
weeks old, mama decided it was time for us to fend for ourselves. That was
when we discovered the nicest lady. Each morning and night, the lady would
bring food and water into the forest for us to eat. While we would eat,
the lady would call out, "White Cloud." The sound of her voice was kind
and gentle, somehow comforting in a world of fear. I remember well the day she brought our food in a scary looking wire box.
Knowing I could trust the nice lady named Carolyn, I ventured into the
strange contraption to quench the gnawing hunger in my tiny belly. There's no way to describe how terrified I felt when I realized I could
not escape from my new prison! In no time, I was transferred to another
box and taken away by a lady I had never seen. That night, two of my
sisters and I spent the night in a small dark room, not knowing if we
would ever see our forest home again - or the nice lady named Carolyn who
would feed us each day. By the following day, something oily was put on the back of our necks that
began killing the annoying fleas on our bodies, many of which were combed
out by the strange lady. That's when the most amazing thing happened! I
heard a familiar voice say, "White Cloud." And there she suddenly was! It
was Carolyn - the nice lady who used to feed us each day! It was she who
was brushing away my fleas! I began to purr at once, and somehow knew that
everything would be all right. The next 24 hours were a blur. The car ride, the bath, and the realization
that Carolyn was actually taking me to her home! Did I mention that her
home is at the edge of the forest where I was captured? Unsure at first whether it was too good to be true, or whether I might
soon be whisked away again, I spent most of my time under her bed - just
out of reach. In spite of my best efforts, Carolyn found a way to get me
out from under the bed, to pet me, to love me, and to make me realize I
had nothing to fear. Within two short weeks, I managed to make friends with her husband David,
too - and then with her other cats - Logan and Jessica! Now I will never
know hunger or loneliness again, for now I know I truly am loved. P.S. Just so you know, White Cloud was first isolated, thoroughly checked
out by a veterinarian, and found to be healthy before ever being allowed
to meet Logan and Jessica. Those considering the adoption of a feral
kitten might want to visit the following website:

My name is Felicia and I am one of the feral cats rescued, fixed, and
released again by the human caretaker who feeds me each day. I am the
only one of the 15 colony members who will let my human touch me, though
just a little pat on the head is all I will usually allow. Occasionally
when I'm feeling generous, I'll rub my face against my human's
outstretched fingers, just to let her know how much I appreciate all the
delicious food each day, and the occasional toys.

My favorite thing to do
is to climb the little cat ramp with cross bars, built by my human to make
it easier for me to get onto her deck, and to taunt Jessica, the indoor
kitty behind the glass door who is so jealous of me. Why Jessica is so
jealous, I can't figure, since she's the queen of the palace, and all I
have is a simple fleece blanket outside on the deck, but I think Jessica
knows how much her human loves me, too. I've already won my way into her
human's heart. Now all I have to do is figure out how to weasel my way
into her home, and you never know what can happen.
Perhaps one day
Jessica and I will be the best of friends. For now, I must be content
playing mouse now and then with Zoro, Midnight and our human.

Zoro and
Midnight are the only two colony members besides me who will let the human
come anywhere near them, though they've both assured me that allowing
themselves to be touched like I do is not a prospect. When the three of
us play with her, my human calls us the Mouseketeers, whatever that means.
There never was a feral
cat more loved and appreciated by their human caretaker than I am.
Besides Felicia, my other name is "Fluffy Muffin."
