I am sending you a picture of Sorsha, my little wildcat. She was born on
the night our beloved Natasha died of FIP; March 17, 1997 (St. Patrick's
Day, hence the Irish name.) She had to be out of our house until the
vaccination took effect, so my husband's sister ( a petless family)
reluctantly took her in for 10 days, and needless to say, fell in love
with this adventurous 6 week old creature. She came home and grew into the
lovely cat in the picture, and even though one of our other cats tested
positive for coronovirus, she is healthy, and lives up to her Irish name,
with a great deal of spirit! How did we ever live without her?

I am a 9 years old black and white cat. My name is Basil. I am a honored
member of the BFCC. I live in Moscow. I have a very good human named
Alexey. Every Saturday he goes to the market for buying my fresh meet. And
at my part every working day I am lying near the computer and dictating
him his scientific texts. I could willingly tell You many interesting
stories but they all are placed at my personal web sites:
http://www.citycat.ru/cats/stories. Please come and visit it. I love write
verses too but unfortunately I can do this only in Russian. In US I have a
very good friend Oliver. You can find a link on his page (I translated it
into Russian too) at my site. Best regards to All.
Sorsha
Just a short note to thank you for the picture of Sorsha, and
to update you. Since you posted her picture we found out that she has
pemphigus foliaceus, an autoimmune disorder that affects the skin. She is
being treated with prednisone, and seems to be doing well in spite of the
fact that this is a serious disease. (Tuesday, February 23, 1999)
Update: She does NOT have
Pemphigus foliaceus, she had a severe and resistant case of ringworm, not
the usual kind, but the kind that only shows after culturing for a long
period. She was treated with Lamisil and cephalexin (for the infection)
for 6 weeks, and is now cured. 6 months of her life is down the drain,
(that's how long she was sick), but now she plays like she used to.
